Fold/Fault

The book Fold/Fault is a collection of 17th-century paintings manipulated by one act. The paintings show an upper-class white man or white woman depicted with a black enslaved servant.

The result of the folding, and thereby dividing the image, gives the viewer a different perspective on these images. It creates space to question who and what is represented in the European National Museums and quite literally how much space who takes in the historical narrative.
